This is an old blog that I started in 2006. I keep it because it has a lot of historical data and people still come here. As of September 2016, no new updates will be made here. All new blog posts and writing/publishing related news will be posted over on my new site at

Word of Inspiration: Seeking the Good in Life is Seeking God

“Seek good and not evil, That you may live; So the LORD God of hosts will be with you, As you have spoken. Hate evil, love good; Establish justice in the gate. It may be that the LORD God of hosts Will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.” Amos 5:14-15

The Bible says that God is good (Psalm 73:1). If He is good, then the Bible is directing us to seek God because we are to seek good. We are commanded to do this so that we may live. It isn't enough to merely exist, but to live life abundantly--to be happy, content, and well. It isn't about wealth, material gain, or accumulating friends in a popularity contest. There are rich people who are miserable and unhappy. On the other end of the spectrum there are people who are poor, but content and happy. There are popular people who have crowds that follow them, and yet, they feel alone. Likewise, there are some who have only a few friends, but those few are loyal and have proven to be trustworthy. When you seek the good in life, you are really seeking God by placing Him as priority in your life so that everything else falls into its proper place beneath Him. That is when justice is established at the gate of your life for those things and people you allow into your life.
