Sharing Dream Experiences

On Mondays I'm going to start sharing my dream experiences with you as a testimony of how God has used them in my life. I can't teach you how to interpret dreams, as I believe that will need to come from the Holy Spirit Himself. However, my dream experiences can be a witness to you.

For centuries God has used dreams to communicate. He appeared to Old Testament people such as Jacob, Jacob's son Joseph, Joseph who was Jesus' father, Daniel, David, Pontius Pilate's wife, and so many more. Also, there is a biblical scripture that is used twice, both in the Old and New Testaments, so it must be very important. It talks about about how God will pour out His Spirit on ALL flesh--that's everyone--and He will use dreams and visions in the last days.

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and daughters shall prophesy. Your young men shall see visions. Your old men shall dream dreams." (Joel 2:28; Acts 2:17)

Some dreams I receive interpretations before the dream comes to pass, but others I have to wait until I understand  them. There are times when I only received a partial interpretation and the rest later becomes clear. Not every dream is prophetic or has a spiritual meaning. I call these regular dreams, but those dreams that stay with me even after I wake up are significant dreams. These are the ones I meditate and pray over.

To protect the privacy and identity of friends and family, I'll use fictional names of individuals who appear in my dreams. If it's too personal, I won't share it.

You may be wondering how can I remember all the significant dreams I've had over the years. The answer is, I can't. Years ago, I felt led by the Holy Spirit to start writing down my dreams and praying over them. I now have a whole collection that may help others begin to understand how God wants to use dreams to communicate in their lives. I keep a prayer/dream journal. It also allows me to see how God is answering my prayers. It builds my faith as I look at all that He's done in my life.

I hope you will find this dream testimony encouraging and that you will share some of your own dream experiences. I'll post the first one next Monday.

I seem to remember a young lass named Akira who had prophetic dreams, hehe! I look forward to this! It should be really interesting!

I look forward to this. I've had some amazing dreams myself, and many of them I've captured in writing as well. I have found that my restful, sleep state is often conducive to solutions that simply do not come when I'm awake.

Blessings,
Kathleen

God actually told me my husband was the one through a dream the first night I met him. God also told me what genders my kids would be when I was pregnant via dreams, beings we didn't find out during the ultrasounds. I look forward to these posts.
I really like the idea of writing them down. Thanks.

Indeed, Emma! Akira has dreams and much of my personality, while Serena is like my daughter, Celina.

Kathleen,
Dreams have made a huge impact on my life and some of my life's decisions. I agree about solutions in our restful, sleep state.

Melissa, That is so cool about your husband and your children's genders. When I was pregnant with Celina, I had a dream of a little 2-year old girl with brown curly hair. Two years later, my daughter looked just like the little girl in my dream.

I encourage you to start writing down your dreams. There have been dreams I forgot about, but later came true 3-4 years later and I didn't realize or remember it until reading back in my journal. It's an awesome feel to see God's hand in your life like that. It does build faith.
